The Fourth Wall

In a few weeks, I'll be heading to Norway but today I'm going through my emotions wondering, why me and why on repeat. OR, is it me putting myself in the middle of avoidable situations. It's really been a big month for self-reflection lost in a layer of confusion.

So instead of dwelling in my misery, which can be so easy to do right now, I can accept my current place on the path and ride the wave out.

Easier said than done, my friends.

But, it is possible. Similar to this post, I've been trying my best to stay cool, calm and collective in the moments that are completely and utterly mine. Those moments range from my early mornings spent sipping on lemon water, setting an intention and sometimes tweeting them out into the universe, and lately meditating with the Headspace app

Actually, I've really been loving the Headspace app since it has these bite-sized sessions that make it super easy to meditate on my commute to work. (For those days, when every minute really does matter.)

In the end, it's all about staying positive and breaking patterns with awareness and action.

Have y'all try mediation or setting intentions at the start of your day? How do you like it?

Five Time-Saving Hacks Perfect for Every Millennial

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #CentrumFunFlavors #CollectiveBias

After five years of working in the marketing and advertising field, in New York City no less, you'll know that life moves pretty fast on my end. There's always something to do in a city that stops for no one. Add in blogging, workouts + training runs, and outings to keep my social life alive, and my schedule gets jam packed. Literally, every minute gets taken up which makes every second count.

On mornings when coffee just won't do the trick to ease away your grogginess, these time-saving hacks (in Collaboration with Centrum® MultiGummies®) will help you move faster:

1. Shower the Night Before
Easily shave off a good 20-40 minutes in the morning by rinsing the day away the night before. Of course, this might be harder to do in summer (cause you know... heat) but it's definitely one of my top time-saving hacks. Not only that, but you can relax and not rush through your shower routine if you have one. PLUS, you get more time to sleep in.

2. Pick Your Outfit the Night Before
I actually take this a bit further and assemble all my looks on a Sunday prior to my week and take into account the weather, important meetings, and blogger breakfasts/cocktail hours. But, not everyone is as insane as me so I suggest looking at the weather and taking note of anything happening the next day and pulling together an outfit. It's pretty easy to lay one out (think: shoes, pants, tops, and a few accessories) and you can try it on the night before to see how you're feeling. 9 times out of 10, I'm pretty content with my chosen look.

3. The Night Before Check Your Schedule and Pack Accordingly
Got a doctor's appointment? Pack your insurance cards. Got a blog shoot for a few outfit looks? Finalize and pack your looks and props needed. Got a fitness class in the morning? Pack your gym gear and water bottle. Are you seeing the pattern yet? And no need to fret if you don't own an organizer, the easiest (and free) way to keep track of all of your engagements is on Google Calendar. Mine is updated frequently and is the backbone of my busy life.

4. Shorten Your Makeup Routine
I love makeup as much as the next beauty junkie but there is a place and a time for the extended contouring routine. During the work week, I keep my routine down to a science. Instead of foundation, concealer, contouring, and eyeshadow - I use a CC cream. Add in a swipe of bronzer and blush and brow gel and I'm ready to get my tush out the door. Add in mascara if you like, but I abstain from layering it on until I leave work for an event (or before an important meeting). It takes less than 10 minutes and has me looking fresh-faced for the rest of my day.

5. Simplify Your Vitamins with A Yummy Multivitamin
There's a vitamin for literally everything nowadays but I like to keep it simple and easy as I cover my vita-essentials. Centrum® MultiGummies® is a great-tasting, easy-to-take multivitamin supplement. Another reason I prefer them is that Centrum® MultiGummies® contain three natural flavors: Berry, Cherry, and Orange. In case you wondering, these multi-benefit multivitamins include 100% or more of essential nutrients, Vitamins B12, D, and E.

Four Tips to Help Fight Off Flu Season

Today's shop has been sponsored by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. As always, all opinions are my own. Thank you for supporting the brands that make this blog possible!
#TeaProudly #CollectiveBias

It's the most wonderful time of the year. It's also the most stressful time of the year. With lots of holiday shopping, year-end work projects coming to a close, and climate change it's a constant struggle to do it all while still feeling our best.

And the absolute last thing anyone needs is to catch a cold or worse, come down with the flu. I don't know about you guys, but when I get sick I get SICK. Which is why I'm sharing five tips that have helped me ward off germs during this tricky time.

1. Start Your Day with I Love Lemon

Start your day with a warm cup of Bigelow's I Love Lemon. The hot lemon water will help to detoxify and hydrate your body. On days I'm feeling under the weather, the next magical ingredient is honey. A little drop goes a long way. This combo together creates the perfect formula for fighting off a cold. While you're sipping on tea, take this moment to warm up on a chilly day and do something small or relaxing for yourself - like reading your favorite blogs (wink).
You can find Bigelow's Tea at your local Walmart. They're honestly one of my favorite brands since their teas are kept in foil packaging for optimal freshness. Their company is also based in the states which make me able to tea proudly.

2. Stay Rested
Easier said than done during the holidays, but it's SO GOOD for you. Our bodies rebuild themselves only when we sleep. If you feel something coming on aim to sleep in for at least eight hours.

3. Sweat it Out
Sweating out the toxins really does help. Not only that, but it'll help you feel more energized and less stressed. You can head here to read how I get out the door and to my classes in the AM. If you can't afford a gym or a class, the next best thing is bundling up and heading outdoors or doing a TV workout. All you need is 30 minutes of cardio and you're good.

4. Meditate the Stress Away
Like I said, this is one of the most stressful times of the year. Have you ever noticed how prone we become to illness when we're most stressed? Well, meditating really does help to melt the stress away and keep us sane when we need it most. As an added bonus, it'll help add clarity to the clutter of our lives.
