Curry Hill Special

Walking a few avenues over to Curry Hill to bring you this look from Tobi.

By the time this post is read I will have landed in Nashville and fully digested my first rack of ribs. Achieving all sorts of goals today! You definitely don't want to miss out on the fun so make sure you're following me on snapchat - my username is thestyleboro.

First, let's dial it back a bit and head a few avenues over to Curry Hill, another eating destination of mine. Not only are the meals flavorful, they're also budget-friendly. Another thing I love - the amount of cabs parked here create the perfect backdrop for an #ootd. Just make sure to eat first and then shoot. You know, food baby prevention.

For today's adventures, I went with a shift dress from Tobi.com styled with my leather coat and tights because it's still a little cold over here. You know how it goes when the weather is acting like a drunk, cold one minute or hot the next. The leather jacket is too edgy to wear in-office (I might also sweat to death) but I tend to keep a cardigan in the office for sleeveless outfits like this one. In the end this makes for a transitional desk-to-drinks look. Perfect, right?

The day we shot this, I had a few (read LOTS) of press previews so I made sure to wear a few conversation starters such as my sunnies from Dittos. It's like Netflix for your face - rent any designer frames you want for as long as you want for only $24 a month. I've been OBSESSED with my Miu Miu frames. Monogrammed Moments

If you’re wondering, yes I am still living the nomadic life and trekking my things from Brooklyn to Queens to Manhattan to Brooklyn again. It’s just one vicious commuter cycle. No worries, though, this is my last month living out of my suitcase before semi-settling into a new apartment.

gigi_new_york_leather_tote.jpg

With all this shuffling around, I’ve lost a lot of my favorites (tear) and find myself in Target rebuying “lost” skincare essentials. My little Vaseline Lip Tins are one of the victims, often getting left behind on bookshelves in different boroughs. Not necessarily a bad thing since each home is now fully stocked with my favorite balm and in all the different varieties: Original, Rosy Lips (love this one!), Cocoa and Aloe Vera.

After re-buying another Vaseline Lip Tin (thankfully they’re super affordable at under four dollars a pop), I had a Marie Kondo moment. Instead of losing all my faves why not create a space for that fave to live in. Then I heard about GiGi New York Lip Tin Holder – it’s like they read my mind.

Now here’s my case for the for the monogrammed GiGi New York Lip Tin Holder: ever reach into your tote looking for something, freak out because you think you lost it, and then realize after emptying your bag on the dirty sidewalk that it’s been in your bag all day long. Guilty.

No joke, the Lip Tin Holder has kept that mini-panic attack at bay throughout the shuffle of multi-borough living and when commuting with my GiGi New York Teddie Tote.  Everything is within easy reach. While we’re at it, make sure to check out their other accessories that can help keep things contained.

Not to mention that the gorgeous leather Teddie Tote is big enough to carry everything and has lots of pockets & compartments to keep everything tidy. (And the pop of red brightens up the gloomiest of days.) You’ll for sure be seeing this styled on the blog again but first let me tell you about this amazing Vaseline & GiGi New York partnership to create personalized pieces for us – just in time for spring.

If you need a little bit of more motivation, I’ve mentioned before how amazing Vaseline’s new Lip Tins are for us liquid lipstick loving gals here, but they’re also great as a skin salve. Anywhere I find dry rough skin, I use the Original or Aloe Vera and massage into my skin for a smooth, hydrated feeling.

The Little Red Dress

Holy sh!t. This past weekend was LIT. I don't even know how my brain has the capacity to function to the fullest it is right now. Thank you to everyone that reached out and wished me a happy birthday!!

marc_new_york_best_coat_topper.jpg

Last week was the perfect way to ring in my 29th. Next up on my radar (besides celebrating more Aqua birthdays & NYFW) is Valentine's Day.

I'm definitely going to take advantage of the three day weekend and dress up each day (weather permitting) and treat myself to a few amazing sit-down meals in the city.

Of course, I went back to Express to see what caught my eye. Besides these gorgeous pink slacks (hella affordable compared to these) I found this fit and flare dress.

The color is spot on for the 14th and could still be re-worn for a few other things I have coming up: baby showers, bridal parties, boozy brunches.

Since we're talking date night, I wanted the dress be the main focal point (the fit is amazing on my frame) and keep everything else black. And of course, black tights because it is still too cold to be without them. Temps are slated to be under 10 degrees all weekend long so make sure you invest in some fleece tights before then.

Don't forget to visit last week's post on the other two dresses I'm wearing this weekend.

What are you wearing for Valentine's (or Galentine's) Day? Let me know in the comments down below.
