Bear with me as I DIY my very own OTK boots, haha. Waiting on my boots to arrive in the mail and still contemplating whether or not they should stay. Decisions, decisions! In the meantime I found that these thigh high socks are doing an amazing job at playing the part.

While we're on the subject of snail mail, this Lola necklace from Designz by Dez took me by surprise when it arrived the other week. I don't have anything like it in my personal collection, so this layered and beaded piece deserves to take center stage. Designz by Dez is a fairly new jewelry line conceptualized by fellow Brooklynite Desiree. Each piece is an original design and hand-made right here in Brooklyn - so for those of you who want to shop local or small, make sure you stop by her e-store here.
The Lola necklace has such a great color to it, I decided it would be best to keep the rest of my outfit neutral but to play with texture. One of the easiest ways to do this is to layer similar fabrics - for instance my wool coat and hand warmers. Added my mustard Ora Delphine clutch since it was in the same color family as the Lola necklace and gave the outfit another colorful boost. And this is how I styled my sweater dress, a great look for nearly anywhere this holiday season!
