Disclaimer: I've never had the funds to visit France but I did work in a French (more like Belgium) restaurant for a few years. The owner of the company actually lived right above the restaurant for half the year and would visit frequently with his wife and kids. And every time I ran into (aka waited on) his wife, and other French/Belgium patrons I'd take notes - a lot of freaking notes because everything they wore fit to a T and looked uh-mazing.

One thing I noticed was how minimalist their style was, they didn't pile on all the current trends because they were trending. Instead they wore, maybe one trending item and kept the rest of their look subdued. It was a great style tip and one I should incorporate more into my everyday style. Another thing was that everything they wore fit like a glove - as if the jeans they got from 7 of all Mankind or Old Navy were made for them. They weren't, they just had an amazing tailor.
Now the tailoring rule is something that I picked up then and still live by now. A great tailor can make all the difference - they can even salvage any sale items you picked up at a great price and magically turn it into your size. That's right, if there's something I have to have but it's too big, I take it my tailor. This skirt I'm wearing was tailored to fit me just right.
Hopefully these tips will help you out as you find some great finds at even greater prices. As for that Parisian trip, maybe my boyfriend will surprise me with that trip next year.
