The amount of Instagram accounts I manage on the daily is a sure fire way to getting things that rhyme with harper tunnel. But, I'm doing everything in my power to avoid that so let's hope for the best shall we. This month's 101 I'd figure, why not delve into something we're all familiar with: Instagram!
I'm a huge fan of the app and love all the incredible visuals some users are able to capture. It's also a great, easy and fast way for some of us to show off our #ootd's and let readers know when and if a new blog post is up. I could go on and on about why everyone and their mom should be on Instagram (especially bloggers), but if I did that we'd be here all night. Instead let's focus on creating vibrant visuals, a great way to engage with new readers and keep your stream full of "I" Candy hehe.
1. VSCOCam - all time favorite app
This app has it all: filters, great features to tune up your photo, and user friendly. And every so often they tend to release new filters, which make my little heart explode. Best of all, it's free to download. Click here for a tutorial. The majority of my photos are edited on VSCO and then uploaded from there.
2. Afterlight
Not free, but worth the .99 cents. Afterlight has these amazing Polaroid frames + "light leaks" to add to your Insta-images. It gives them that rustic analog feel, which I dig from time to time. Also, lots of filters and you're able to be a little more specific when tuning up an image. Here's a tutorial for that.
3. Snapseed
This app is from google, and I use it predominately for our jewelry and makeup brands (insider secrets right here). Sometimes the best images are those that bright, a bit saturated with color somewhere, and are clear. Snapseed preforms all these functions with flying colors, which is why it'll forever remain on my iPhone. If this is the first time you'll be working with photo apps, outside of Instagram, I recommend you start with Snapseed and then work your way up to Afterlight and then VSCO. Here's a tutorial to get you started.
I'd hate to admit, but this is only 3 of the 12 photo apps that are currently on my phone... Call me crazy!
