Already a week in and this new year is already proving to be a very busy one. And a very cold one thanks to the Polar Vortex we got going on. The Canadians must think we're little sissys after hearing all of us statewide complain about these frigid temps. But... It is really cold. So no, I wasn't wearing pleather shorts with tights in -7 degree weather but did when they were taken (a few warmer weeks back, obvi).
And now the story behind the look. Ahem... Before the massive fashion months would start, casting calls would take place. And trust, there were tons of them. Girls changing into heels in the elevators or on the cobble stone streets of meatpacking and soho were a common scene, but even more common were the legs. Legs, legs and more legs for days. Skinny jeans, leggings, tights were all part of a working model's uniform. And to this day, that uniform still remains sem-intact when I get dressed. When January or August roll around I find myself subconsciously reaching for those skinny jeans, leggings or tights. Habits die hard I guess.
So ladies, it is January. Let's all indulge our inner model and pull out those shorts with tights. And treat that sidewalk as your runway wherever you are!
