The Dumbo Arts Festival is a huge and free event that takes place every year in the armpit of Brooklyn. Making art accessible to everyone is the one of best ways to cultivate and even inspire future artists. Although I'm a few months late on this post, DAF does takes place at the end of September, I wanted to share some of my favorite installations. Read more after the break!
Installations, in my opinion are amazing. Light installations are even more uh-mazing. I'm kicking myself right now since I didn't write down the artist or the installation name. This is probably my favorite piece out of the whole shebang. The word 'on' switches on and off changing the sentence from 'You are on an island' to 'You are an island' with the island of Manhattan on it's background. It was beautiful to take in with setting sun in the background and definitely became my mantra for a long bit.
