Ever since attending my first Casualties show, I've been smitten with plaid (and drummers). For the next couple of weeks, I saved my allowance, did a plethora of chores for family members, and refused to go anywhere that required dinero. Why? Because I wanted in on the plaid club and my ticket in would be a pair of hot pink plaid bondage pants from Trash and Vaudeville in St. Marks. Unfortunately, they did me no justice and my love affair with plaid quickly sizzled out.
And like a summer fling, I still look back, reminiscence and sadly wonder why it couldn't work for me.
Well, like a fairy tale with a happy ending I discovered it could work, it just couldn't encompass my entire lower body in bright pink. Now I opt to pair my plaid with (p)leather and somehow this je nai sais quoi miraculously oozes out. If only I knew about this je nai sais quoi effect earlier, high school would've been much easier.
