Participants entering Central Park in the wee hours of the morning. Everyone keeps close to stay warm.
Best way to stay warm before a race is to come best dressed in a garbage bag. The garbage bag retains the heat and you'll be super toasty (and happy).
Elite runners starting the race. Some finished a whole loop (six miles) of Central Park in less than thirty minutes. Now that is FAST.
Finally crossed the start line. I'm smiling because I have no idea what is ahead of me.
Running through Times Square was exhilarating, a lot of potholes but it was exhilarating. Still smiling.
Finally made it to Wall Street and still managed to keep a smile on my face.
My first half was filled with lots of spectators, support, and lessons.
Lesson 1 - This half would not have been possible without those who donated to LLS & TNT. A big thank you to them!!
Lesson 2 - It's better to run with a smile.
Lesson 3 - Why run with something on/in your ears when people are cheering you on?
It was a fantastic race and I hope to raise funds, train and race with Team in Training soon.
I also encourage all of you to give it a try.
