Sometimes there comes a point in your life where you just can't rock the same things like you once did. Zebra leggings is an example. It wouldn't be fitting or age appropriate, or in my case, it would make me look younger (and like a hoarder).
Some people make such drastic transitions they become apparent, I'd prefer to do it in baby steps because the idea of getting old is still new [scary] to me. Still me, but if I can get a zebra scarf instead of leggings it would be a step in the right direction.
I decided to swap out my hello kitty wallet for a black sleek more adult one. Besides, the hello kitty wallet was in it's final raggedy stages - at some point, it was gonna go.
Also went through some jewelry and anything that screamed "sixteen" didn't make the cut. Off to the goodwill they go. It's not all bad because it gives me a reason to start investing in more classic or sturdier jewelry. I did receive a polaroid necklace as a gift, but it's so cool I would totally continue to wear that into my 50s or, at least, save it for my niece when she too becomes obsessed with fashion.
