Favorite Fall Trends + $400 NORDSTROM GIVEAWAY

Happy Friday! I've been spending a lot of time organizing old photos and categorizing old blog posts (it never ends). Each session feels like a trip down memory lane, especially seeing all the hairstyles I was obsessed with at the time.

Besides the hairstyles, I came across a few trends and looks that are still blowing up this fall. Make sure to check them out, add to cart, and enter the $400 Nordstrom Giveaway at the bottom of the post. You could walk away as a lucky winner!

All Things Suede
The burnt hues and rich texture of suede never disappoint. At the moment, I'm loving this burgundy suede jacket but I do have this deep tan skirt in heavy rotation. The offerings extend from jackets, skirts, booties and beyond. Simply put, there's something for everyone.

Booties w. Hardware
Fall footwear is not about being shy or basic black booties. Instead, it's about blingin' it out. If your bank account can't handle the booties that replicate a disco ball take it a notch down with booties that accessorize with chains, zippers, buckles and pearls.

Printed / Patterned Pants
Lower temps and cooler, brisk weather doesn't mean you can't share a bit of flair. Yes, the mini skirts and crop tops do need to get shelved. But, your pants can be just as colorful as you. And when it's really cold, I absolutely love printed and shimmery pants for holiday parties and get-togethers.

Foliage & Floral Dresses
Florals aren't ground-breaking but they are here to stay, year after year. For this trend, in particular, I would recommend investing in a floral dress with an A-line cut. I would wear this trend with OTK boots or black ankle booties as seen in the photo above.

Chunky Necklaces
Sweater weather brings with it an abundance of chunky jewels to accessorize with. I've been seeing chunky necklaces all over my Instagram but bigger, thicker earrings, bracelets, and rings are trailing right behind it. Confused on how to wear it? Try it with a plain turtleneck for a not-so-basic outfit.

Now for the moment, you've all been waiting for! One lucky winner will get themselves a $400 gift card to buy whatever their heart desires from Nordstrom.

Cute Travel Outfits for the Plane, Solved

After my breakup last year, I remember stating loudly and proudly how committed I was to exploring New York City and beyond. With my savings stacked high, I started to plan out my dream destinations per month.

First up, was a long weekend to Nashville, Tennessee with a close friend. We remained under budget and had the time of our life eating anything and everything fried and 'cued.

From there, Tulum, Mexico came up randomly and sporadically so away we went. Tacos, tequilas, and day trips filled our weeklong trip. And again, I somehow stayed under budget until...

The ATV accident.

And with that my travel plans for the year came to a screeching halt but picked right back up for this year. (The power of positivity and determination helped turn this into a reality.) So far, I've visited Philly, Cuba, Boston, Upstate New York and have Norway, Germany and Czech Republic, and Salem coming up. Not sure if I should include my Iceland stopovers but went there too! With all those travel plans I needed to ensure I stayed within budget, so it's always a good idea to check out different airfare deals and rates. Sometimes using flight reservation specialists can be very beneficial as they can do all of the research to find you a good deal on your plane tickets. You can also look online yourself and check out different comparison sites. It is always essential to check out prices first to help you come up with your budget and then stick to it.

Finding myself in a car, bus, train, and plane I've reverted to my tried and true outfits that are resistant to wrinkles + creases, look polished and most importantly make me feel comfortable in tight spaces.

Here are my go-to looks, I reach for over and over again:

The Old Navy Dress Everyone Is Wearing

This dress has been making the rounds on Instagram lately and for good reasons.

It's affordable, it's cute and amazing quality.

It's from my rediscovered favorite, Old Navy.

Side note, it's kind of interesting how Banana Republic, Gap, and Old Navy are all sister brands with similar styles but Old Navy is killing it. They're so quick to deliver on value and trends in recent years that I highly recommend popping into your nearest store or surfing their newest arrivals here.

However, you should keep in mind you get what you pay for. Namely, the sizing still needs a bit of work as I find most pieces to run big. To be fair, Zara doesn't have the best sizing reputation either so this is where you handy neighborhood tailor comes in handy.

Another summer staple you'll want to use daily... Sunscreen. Not only is it the most powerful skincare product we can use against premature aging and skin cancer, but they're so many different variations and formulas. There's no excuse to not make it a part of your daily routine.

I've been using this one from La Mer religiously, mainly to finish the formula before it expires, but these always make their way back into my skincare routine. This one from Asia, in particular, is my ABSOLUTE favorite.

I couldn't end this post without mentioning how much I love this photo series by Mark. We connected on Instagram, decided to meet up and shoot around Long Island City. He's honestly so talented so make sure you check out his page here.

We shot two looks so can't wait to share the second look with you soon!
