Who's That Girl?

Told ya guys I am still very blond. And very much loving every second of it. I'm still getting adjusted to seeing myself in the mirror (who's that girl?) but at the end of the day, I'm really happy about going lighter.

A month ago, my hair stylist warned me about a feeling that wouldn't be so fleeting. As she applied the first brush stroke of bleach she mentioned how it would change everything - I'd possibly start opting for red glosses, feel more confident in bolder colors, and stand a little taller when waiting for the train. Or I would hate the drastic change and cry my eyes out.

My mood latched onto the former. I feel a billion times more confident with my new 'do and find myself wanting to explore the uncharted when it comes to beauty and accessories. And heels that never saw the light of day finally got a chance to go outside and play. (By the way, these from Harley-Davidson make my heart pitter-patter and they're comfy AF). I honestly wake up excited every day to get dressed and done up.

It's definitely good timing too -- because as I say it's better to be the better looking one when running into a failed (read: horrible) Tinder date on the E train.

A few of the accessories, I've discovered (pre-ATV accident and really latched onto) is this brand called Q&Q SmileSolar. The quirky watch brand boasts a colorful array of bands and faces to match every mood imaginable. Unless, you're not into smiling or good times. To be honest, I really love watches but once the battery dies then so does the act of wearing it out. Luckily for my wrists (yes, even the broken one), Q&Q watches are all powered by sunlight. They're also water-resistant and the band is uber comfortable.

As how I accessorize my face, I've fallen very deep into Kylie's Lip Kit #22 and may actually finish it before the summer's end.

It's Banana!

I have some bad news and some good news. Good news is that I'm finally sharing my first look since the accident. The bad news is that it took over a month to get this look on the blog. And if you were wondering about the hair - it's still very blond.

We have so much ground to cover since my last spring style post, but I wanted to touch base on my new job. Yep, I started a new job only days after fracturing my wrist. How I managed to meet deadlines, find a new apartment, and move with one working arm is beyond me.

I'm not really sure what I can and can't say about where I work now, but let's just say I'm loving it. Every day, I'm excited to work. It's a feeling I haven't had since working in production.

I will admit I did get a bit of culture shock when I first started. I come from a very creative office setting where nearly anything could be worn so I had to make a few wardrobe adjustments. Enter bananarepublic.com and their repertoire of office-ready (and super cute) dresses.

It's safe to say my closet is stocked with some new BR goodies. And since I've been inspired by the change in scenery, you'll most likely see a few office-approved looks on the blog. But let's not get too ahead of ourselves and instead focus on this gorgeous maxi I found on their site. It has since been sold out but they do still have some fun options here.

For the office, I'd probably switch out the sandals for closed-toe shoes but this cute look has made its round at brunches, dates, and of course baby showers (since everyone I know is pregnant). Either way, this dress isn't getting retired any time soon.

Something Sweet

Only two more days until Tulum! I'm so excited to finally get some sun on these pale legs of mine and peace out for a little bit.

I'm so pumped to retire the bulky suffocating layers and bring out the pastel and lighter jackets. Show a little bit of skin and get some necessary vitamin D.

With all my shifting around from one apartment to another I've misplaced a lot of things - RIP denim shorts. So you can only imagine my need to find cute shorts (perfect for spring here and the heat in Tulum) only increased tenfold. I also need to stick to a budget while on the hunt because of yet another possible move looming ahead - I swear it never ends.

I'm already a regular shopper at Gap Factory - lots of on-trend pieces for half the price. So, I logged onto their online store for a bit of shopping and...

Holy Moly... so many good options and so affordable too. Obviously, I got ALL of the pairs. Some were textured (like the one I'm styling here), printed, or solids. And as a tall girl, the length is perfect.

I decided to do an all-white look which is perfect for Soho strolls and art gallery hopping. Not to mention it's a sweet way to pop in front of any murals you come across. I paired the Factory Eyelet Shorts with Boyfriend Utility Shirt and kept the look sweet with pink lace-up flats and chambray jacket. When the temps rise even higher I'll forgo the jacket, but for now, it'll stay on.

This day, in particular, I stopped by Harry's (64 Macdougal St.) for this fun wall art and then headed towards First Street Green Art Park (33 East 1st Street, corner of Houston Street and 2nd Avenue).

P.s. Did anyone else watch Beyoncé's Lemonade more than once? I legitimately can't stop watching it.
