Five Friday Favorites

The weekend could not come soon enough! My plans will of course involve sleep, great food, and inhaling the last season of Breaking Bad. Honestly though, who am I kidding - that's every weekend ;).

Before disconnecting here are a few things I came across you may enjoy too:

1. I came across this article about rethinking money as a tool and it completely changed my POV on how to budget, save, and spend. It also gave me the kick to restart my Mint account (it's an amazing money managing tool!!) for a more successful financial future.

2. Had to renew my library card recently and picked up The Best of Everything by Rona Jaffe. It's an amazing novel following five young women working in New York City during the late 50s. This page turner literally has me looking forward to my rush hour commute aka reading time.

3. ICYMI, I'm training for the Brooklyn Half this year and attempting to complete my requirements for the 2016 NYC Marathon. All this training means a higher intake of protein and found that RAP Protein Gummies provided a seamless way for me to do so.

4. My strong aversion to ashy skin (damn the winter) has led me to some amazing finds that turn my skin into luscious goodness. For instance, the entire Karelen line of body butters, dry oils, and hand & body creme have been nourishing my dry skin and will continue to do so. I love the product so much I'm planning a giveaway come April - stay tuned to my Instagram (@thestyleboro) for the flash sweepstakes!

5. Tall girls rejoice! I came across this wonderful site made specifically for our long limbs and the clothes are so stylish and chic (!!). It's not easy being tall and having to settle for high-water pants so I'm really glad to shop Long Tall Sally without that worry.

Happy Friday!

Flying to Orlando for a quick getaway, but for those of you still stuck at work (I feel you boo) here are fun + inspiring things you may enjoy!

1. This post from Victoria McGinley hit the nail on the head when it comes to real life versus perceived life, i.e. Instagram. SO MANY preach emojis after I read that!

2. Trying to find your zen for 2015? Me too, hence this piece this written piece for Classpass on putting myself first.

3. Downgrading my closet slowly but surely and am finding great inspiration from Un-Fancy. Almost gives me the courage to attempt a capsule collection... Almost. Baby steps, guys.

4. Found another great nail paint that's 3-free (i.e. bad chemicals we shouldn't be using) and the perfect color for any aquarius. The brand is called adorn nails and you should check them out!

5. Cliffton Dry bubbly is replacing my usual Fri-YAY lager and for good reason. By using a process that's akin to sparkling wine than traditional cider, the end product is light, golden, and refreshing. If you're in the tri-state area, get yourself a bottle or two.

Cheers to the weekend!!

On 2015

Every year I make this crazy-long list of resolutions that ends up falling flat a few weeks in. I’m not entirely focused on a lean body or more funds in the checking account, although both would be nice. Instead, I’m going to focus on a few aspirations that will in the end leave me feeling sane, healthy and amazing about where my life is going to take me, after all I am in the driver’s seat.

Twenty-fifteen is going to about finding peace + strength within my mind and body, decluttering my little apartment + closet so the boyfriend and I can breathe easier, exploring more corners of the earth and unleashing my creative soul just a tad more. With these aspirations leading the way for the year, it’s going to change me and the blog for the better.

Now we all know the dream is free, but the hustle is sold separately. And hustle hard I shall:

Find Peace + Strength

Listen to my body

Treat myself right (eat right + sweat right)

Relax

Declutter My Apartment + Closet

Spend less, save more

Get organized + stop hoarding (being honest here)

Create a home to cherish

Explore the World

Local, domestic or international - just go

Unleash My Creativity

Connect with curiosity

Go outside my comfort zone

Read + write more

Simply said, I’m going to live a more balanced life by cutting out (not adding to it) any unnecessary noise. It’ll make working on my life-long goals easier and my self-expectations more realistic. And if I focus on keeping myself healthy, balanced and sane - it might be the first time I’ll have a very happy outcome.

Dear 2015, I’m going to make you my year of YASSSSS (aka SUCCESS).
