Gustav Klimt 'Adele Bloch-Bauer I'
1907; Oil and Gold on Canvas, 138 x 138
Upon walking into the very quiet Neue Galerie, I know I'm in for lots of amazing creations. In my past experiences, where there is silence there is awe. The galerie did not let me down. The entire collection is grand, all decorative art from the German Expressionist period and Vienna Secession.
Although admission can be a bit pricey, the museum is definitely a must for those who adore Klimt and his contemporaries or who wish to escape the large crowds at the Metropolitan.
You will not be disappointed.
You can also check out the Galerie during the 'First Fridays' when it is free to the public from 6 to 8pm, but be sure to check ahead on their site since it's on select Fridays.
